Volunteer

One of the most important gifts you can give us is the gift of your time. There are numerous ways to get involved throughout the year, whether you prefer to work at special events, mentor a child or help in our program or office. Volunteer Opportunities Include:

Mentor During the School Year

Volunteer one afternoon a week and make a difference in the life of a child. Our goal is for each elementary aged child in the program to have a relationship with a caring adult (or high school student) who assists them with their homework, participates in mentor mixers and serves as a positive role model weekly. (Or you can choose to mentor one of our middle or high school Take Stock In Children scholarship recipients either at the program or in the school for more flexibility!)

Small Group Tutoring

Volunteer one afternoon a week assisting a small group (3-5) elementary school students who are struggling in Math or Reading Comprehension. Tutors are also needed to work with a group of 1st and 2nd grade students. Curriculum and staff support is available!

Tennis Instruction

Assist our tennis coaches with beginner tennis lessons one afternoon per week. Or, for 4.0+ players, give our competitive junior players some additional match play and pointers.

Camp Dynamite Summer Program

Volunteers can  assist on the tennis court or with off-court enrichment camp activities one day a week (all summer), one week during the summer (half or full days) or throughout the entire summer camp.There are also opportunities to assist on the court over the summer during our Camp Dynamite summer program.  Camp Dynamite is an excellent opportunity for high school community service hours.

Gala Committee Member

Join the Golf & Tennis Gala committee and assist with the sales and operations of this exciting event.  The Gala Committee meets bi-monthly from March through October. If you are interested in volunteering for the Gala during the event ONLY (September), check the calendar for details.

Kids Carnival Committee Member

Plan activities, solicit vendors and sponsors and assist with the operations of the event. Committee meeting bi-monthly from January through June. If you are interested in volunteering for the Kids Carnival during the event ONLY (May), check the calendar for details.

Book Club Volunteer

Join us on Friday afternoons to read childhood favorites (Dr. Seuss, Mother Goose, etc.) to a small group of Kindergarten, first and second grade students or read chapter books and do activities based on the readings with 3rd-5th grade students. Interested volunteers can sign up for one Friday or a book series (6-8 week session).

Board of Directors

Our Board of Directors are chosen for three year terms and are recruited during the spring for a term to begin July 1st. The majority of our Board of Directors are chosen from individual donors, representatives from corporate sponsors and from dedicated volunteers.
