How do I enroll my child in MWKF?

Please contact MWKF offices at (904) 359-KIDS (5437) for program availability. Participants for TnT are accepted during the summer and are admitted, based on availability, from August through January. Most youth accepted into the TnT program are in 1st-5th grade, live in the 32209 and 32206 zip code areas and are on free or reduced lunch.

Participants in the Camp Dynamite Summer Program are accepted in April. First priority is given to members of the TnT program. Limited spots are available. For more information on Camp Dynamite or to be placed on the waiting list, please call us at (904) 359-KIDS (5437).

Where is MWKF located?

The MaliVai Washington Kids Foundation is located in the MaliVai Washington Youth Center at Emmett Reed Park on the corner of 6th and Payne in Durkeeville. The address is 1096 West 6th Street, Jacksonville, FL 32209.

How do I volunteer?

If you would like to volunteer with MWKF, please contact us at (904) 359-KIDS (5437) or info@malwashington.com. You may also visit the ‘Volunteer’ tab and fill out a volunteer form. There are on-going volunteer opportunities available, as well as ‘done-in-a day’ projects. Our calendar lists numerous volunteer opportunities as well.

How do I apply for a job at MWKF?

If you are interested in joining our dynamic team, please fax your resume to (904) 301-3789 or send it via email to info@malwashington.com. We have a regular need for college students to work in the 3-6pm hours and fluent Spanish speakers to assist our Spanish immersion students.

Who is on the Board of Directors and how are they selected?

What is the annual Celebrity Golf & Tennis Gala?

The annual MWKF Golf & Tennis Gala is as our largest fundraising event and generally takes place the Monday and Tuesday following Labor Day week. Celebrities, friends and donors of MWKF come together during this two-day event to support the youth in our programs. The event begins with a Tennis Pro-Am, followed by a Gala Dinner & Awards Ceremony which includes both Live and Silent auctions. The next day continues with a Golf Pro-Am. Can I play tennis on the courts?

The tennis courts are managed by the City of Jacksonville’s Recreation Department. The courts are closed to the public during regular program hours of MWKF and during special events. Although the schedule may change, the courts are usually open Saturdays 8am-6pm and Sundays 11am-6pm. During the summer, the courts are open in the evening from 5pm-9pm. During the school year, evening hours are limited to 6pm-8:30pm, but the courts are open from 9am-2pm. Proper I.D and tennis attire is required.

Can I book the MaliVai Washington Youth Center for a special event?

Currently the MWYC is only available to nonprofits to book for meetings, trainings and special events. In the future, it may be available to book for private events as well. For additional information, contact us at (904) 359-KIDS (5437) or info@malwashington.com or download an information page.
